Having extracted myself from a long career in consultancy, I threw myself into work and activities that rewarded me with tangible, obvious and immediate results, surrounded by fun, genuine and hilarious characters. A far cry from meetings and endless deadlines, I found myself fitting windows in the Cotswolds, driving a tractor while building miles of stock proof fencing on various country estates and taking photographs. I also rekindled my fascination with street art which I developed living in Bristol through the 80s and 90s. It was during Covid that it amused me to borrow the edgy stencil style of Blek Le Rat (and his famous follower, Banksy) but apply it to the banal tradition of a pet portrait. The first image was our terrier on a wheelie bin in Barford. While I was window fitting, I found I had an endless supply of used chipboard and the demand for my images grew from customers and fellow workers.
